Through determination, sacrifice, and the grace of God, JR experienced gradual success and continues to pursue his dreams. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a focus in juvenile delinquency, crime deterrents, and social capital. He has over 19 years experience working with youth and families in both community and residential settings.
JR was recently appointed by the mayor and city council to Charlotte’s Citizen’s Review Board. He has completed a 6 year term on Charlotte’s Community Relation Community, as well their Police sub-committee. His agency serves on the Executive Board of the Mecklenburg Provider Council and is also a premium level member of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce. JR is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. as well as a 3rd Degree Free Master Mason hailing from Unique Lodge No# 85 in Charlotte. He is an avid golfer and chess player who just loves to play the game. JR believes that it is his life’s purpose to not only motivate and inspire people to smile and have hope for the future, but to also help families increase their ability to live and to love, and to empower them to know that anything and everything is possible.
